World Tourism Day is celebrated on 27th September every year. In 1980, the United Nations decided to celebrate 27th September as World Tourism Day. Tourism means travelling to each other's country. The main purpose of celebrating this day is to spread awareness about tourism among the people and more and more people come to their country through tourism. This day focuses on the importance of tourism. Through this day, tourists from abroad are attracted towards them. Tourism plays an important role in social, political and economic development of all the countries. Tourism is very essential for employment, construction and development of all countries. World Tourism Day is celebrated in different ways in different countries. Various competitions are held on this day. Essay writing, photography and other contests are organized to promote tourism on this special day.
On this day amusement parks, museums and cultural sites offer free entries or reduced entry ticket fees to attract tourists and promote tourism. Tourism connects one country to another. When we travel to any country, we also get information about that country with pleasure.
