August 15th is the National Independence Day of India. India got freedom on this day in 1947. It is the day of freedom when we remember the sacrifices of all freedom fighters. The tricolor flag was hoisted at the parliament in New Delhi, India for the first time on this important day. 

On this day in 1947, India achieved independence. On the occasion of independence day, let us look at how this day has been celebrated in the past. 15 august, 1947 marked India’s freedom from British rule. It is celebrated every year on the same day in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

In the early 1960s, revolutionary leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro declared that "the era of the exploited and oppressed has ended". In a speech given in Havana on May 7, 2000, Castro stated: "The Cuban people have done a great deal of good for themselves and others. 

We have educated many people from abroad who have returned to their fatherland and we have the satisfaction of knowing that we have contributed to making people's and countries better and more just.’ This quote implies that Castro believes that Cuba is now a more just country as a result of its revolution.
